Peter James Johnson. The members and staff of Leahey & Johnson Attorneys at Law mourn the passing and honor the memory of a heroic giant in the law and life of New York City. He is survived by his cherished wife and dearest friend of 54 years, Veronica, and his loving children and grandchildren. In his 63 years at the Bar he spoke fearlessly and successfully for those without a voice. Known as one of the best trial lawyers in America, he served as a courageous New York City police officer, was a wounded veteran of Iwo Jima, a crusader for the waterfront workers from which he came and a maverick civic reformer. His courage and kindness speaks today through The Johnson Foundation.
